About The National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD)

For the last 80 years the NCPD has played an integral role in shaping South Africa into a country where persons with disabilities have access to equal opportunities and rights. The NCPD runs awareness programmes, influences government policies, promotes physical access, supports the schooling of children with disabilities in special and mainstream schools both in terms of learning and assistive devices to aid their education, and has initiatives to promote learners entry into the workforce via job creation and placement programmes, thereby facilitating economic participation. Collectively, these actions enable, support and enhance the quality of life for persons with disabilities.
