Casual Day Merchandise made by Persons with Disabilities, APD Nelson Mandela Bay

The Casual Day project of the National Council of Persons with Physical Disabilities procured
15 000 golf shirts and Caps from APD, Nelson Mandela Bay. Watch this great video about the project.

The golf shirts are designed, produced and screen printed by involving persons with disabilities according to their abilities in all aspects of production line.

The workshop produces high quality, individually branded corporate clothing for companies including well known brands such as ACSA and BKB, as well as a line of underwear to retailer Woolworths.

Here is a radio interview – Brian Bezuidenhout chats to Roy Williams on Algoa Cares about the project (starts at 00:38):

Hi, I’m Able the Casual Day mascot and ambassador for disability. I encourage you to see the ABILITY in people and not the dis-ABILITY. We’re all able, we can all live our fullest lives if the barriers are removed. Join me each year, on the first Friday of September and raise funds to support organisations that render services in the field of disability. This year Casual Day falls on Friday, 1 September. Your donation of R10 for a sticker makes a difference and improves lives all across South Africa.
